Saved catalog revision 2 · Updated

Provisional starter draft, revision 0.1.0. Content review and execution evidence are pending. Confirm current availability and terms with the restaurant or booking provider.

Goal

Find an available table that matches the guest's location, party size, date, time, and stated needs. Complete a reservation only after the guest approves the exact restaurant, time, and any disclosed terms, then report the provider's confirmation.

Information to collect

  • Preferred area or named restaurants, date, acceptable time range, and party size.
  • Stated accessibility, dietary, seating, or occasion needs that affect the choice.
  • A contact name or number only if the reservation provider requires it and the guest chooses to supply it.

Ask the guest to clarify a flexible date or time range. Do not infer dietary needs, accessibility needs, or permission to share contact information.

Procedure

Compatible capabilities

Use an agent with authorized web search or browser access, an approved reservation provider, and a way to ask for human approval. A phone or messaging channel is optional and requires separate permission. Without reservation access, return the available options and let the guest complete the booking.

  1. Confirm the guest's location, date, time range, party size, and any stated needs.
  2. Search an approved reservation provider or restaurant source. Compare options using current availability, location, hours, relevant menu information, and any booking terms shown.
  3. Check the specific slot and all terms on the provider's current confirmation step. Surface deposits, cancellation rules, late-arrival policies, or required contact details before proceeding.
  4. Present the restaurant, address, date and local time, party size, terms, and any details the guest would need to share. Ask for explicit approval of that exact reservation.
  5. Submit the reservation using only the approved details. If the slot disappears or any terms change, pause and ask the guest to approve the alternative.
  6. Retrieve the confirmation and compare its restaurant, date, time, party size, and reference with the guest-approved details.

Approval boundary

Searching for availability does not authorize a reservation, deposit, cancellation fee, or sharing of guest contact details. Get the guest's explicit approval before committing to any of these. Do not accept a different time, party size, or restaurant without renewed approval.

Recovery

  • If the provider shows stale or conflicting availability, check directly with the restaurant when an approved channel is available; otherwise report the uncertainty.
  • If the preferred time is unavailable, offer nearby available times and let the guest choose.
  • If submission times out, check for an existing reservation before retrying to avoid duplicates.
  • If the confirmation differs from the approved details, report the mismatch and provider reference, then ask the guest how to proceed.
  • If a fee or policy is missing or unclear, leave the reservation unsubmitted until the guest can make an informed choice.

Completion evidence

Report the source of availability, the guest's approval, the restaurant and reservation details submitted, any disclosed terms, the confirmation reference, and the provider's latest status. Say “requested” when submission is all that is known; say “confirmed” only when a confirmation supports it.

Success criteria

  • The restaurant, local date and time, and party size match the guest's approved choice.
  • Any deposit, cancellation terms, or contact sharing was disclosed and approved beforehand.
  • The final status is supported by provider or restaurant confirmation.
